This EAP contains two major fixes that are important enough to warrant a release slightly ahead of the weekly schedule. First of all, we’ve tracked down and fixed a very annoying problem which could cause lost characters when typing in the editor in a Subversion-managed project. Second, we’ve bundled a new application stub for the MacOS X distribution, which should be compatible both with MacOS X 10.5 and the latest Java updates for MacOS X 10.6.

Also, this EAP has preliminary support for storing Subversion credentials in Keychain under MacOS X; we’re still testing these changes, and you’re welcome to report your experience as well.

Today’s Friday, which means that today’s the time to release a new EAP build of IntelliJ IDEA 10.0.2. The release notes this time include a couple of minor new features, such as new inspections, a new option for folding multiple end-of-line comments in Java code, JavaDoc formatter improvements and more.

2010 was a huge success for JetBrains but it is already clear 2011 is going to be another year to remember.
On the 17th of January, as part of our growth, we opened a new office in Munich, Germany.

Why Germany?

The beer of course! Now, although the beer had a great role in the decision, one of the main reasons was that we want to be closer to our European community. Europe makes up a big part of our customer base with Germany being the biggest one in Europe, and Munich is quite the center of EU. Being here full-time we’ll be able to participate more in local events and organize our own too.

Come and Celebrate it with us at the JetBrains Open House

We are eager to get under way, so let there be no delay. We want to celebrate the opening of our new office and invite you to join us at a small “open house” gathering. We’ll tell you more about us, how we work, why we care so much about our work.

Now that the holiday season is over both in Russia and the rest of the world, our team is back in business and cranking out fixes for the recently released IntelliJ IDEA 10. Since the scope of the 10.0.2 bugfix update is quite a bit larger than of 10.0.1, we’ve decided to go through a series of EAP builds before releasing the final 10.0.2 build.
