IntelliJ IDEA 10.0.2 EAP build 103.39
February 2nd, 2011 by yoleAs the release of IntelliJ IDEA 10.0.2 approaches, we’re speeding up the release cycle of EAP builds. This time, we’ve made yet another attempt to change the Mac OS application stub so that it’s compatible with MacOS X 10.5 and 10.6. Note that IntelliJ IDEA now runs in 64-bit mode under Mac OS X. On first startup, it prompts you whether you’d like to stay in 64-bit mode or switch to 32-bit for lower memory usage.
The build is available for the download on the IntelliJ IDEA 10.0.2 EAP page. You can also review the complete release notes.

Have you guys tested compressed oops with IDEA? It’s been available for a while now (since Java 6.0 update 6) and I haven’t heard of any problems with it so far.

We aren’t aware of any problems with it either; we’ll likely enable it by default in 10.0.2 final.

“On first startup, it prompts you whether you’d like to stay in 64-bit mode or switch to 32-bit for lower memory usage.”
If we missed this chance, how can we switch to 32-bit mode?

Max, here is the document describing how to switch: http://devnet.jetbrains.net/docs/DOC-1232
