Hello,
Is it very difficult to provide a zip version of a new release ?
Just curious cause every time you release a new version, I have to get it installed by the admin guys here....corporate security stuff.

You should really add a check to see if the user has the correct privileges to run the updater.

On a typical Linux installation, the IntelliJ installation files will be owned by root, and the program will be run as a regular user. If you try to run the updater as a regular user, I get a message that there are a lot of conflicts, and I can proceed or cancel.
Whatever I choose, nothing happens and IntelliJ restarts without having updated.

This can be solved by just running IntelliJ as root and then running the updater.

It would be user friendly to add a check for this though, so people don't lose precious time trying to understand what these 'conflicts' are and why the h*** IntelliJ does not want to update...

After upgrading, the cursor is invisible. I think its being set as the same color as the "caret row" color.

I upgraded java on osx at the same time, so it could be one or the other. Anyone seeing this on osx Mountain Lion?
joe$ java -version
java version "1.6.0_37"
Java(TM) SE Runtime Environment (build 1.6.0_37-b06-434-11M3909)
Java HotSpot(TM) 64-Bit Server VM (build 20.12-b01-434, mixed mode)

Why not provide the .zip version?
Do you know how many corporate environments don't allow the download of .exe files

Come on live in the real world..

I have exactly the same issue Victor described : I am running version 11.1.3 and the update check states this is the latest available version. My HTTP proxy is configured as before and I could upgrade automatically plugins and even IntelliJ itself, as far as I remember...

Why is that?
