In some versions of ICQ have the Save user’s history option is usually turned off. If this option is disabled, you can’t access your instant message conversations in Omea Pro because the messages are not saved in ICQ database, and thus nothing is imported in Omea Pro.
To turn this option on:

Start ICQ, then navigate to a contact in you Contacts list for which you want to turn this option on.

Do one of the following:

right-click the contact name and select Message History>View Message History

select New Message and click Show/Hide history

Check Save user’s history.

You can later uncheck this option if you don’t want your conversations with some people appear in Omea Pro (but remember, they won’t be saved in ICQ database as well).

We recommend you to define that database path setting once only - during the initial setup (when you come through the startup wizard).

If you change the already existing database path in Omea’s options, you will simply loose your data.
Here is the approach that we offer: before changing the database path, you have to copy and save the already existing database in a new folder where you want Omea to keep the database from now on. If you haven’t done it, no surprise that you will loose your data (because Omea simply cannot transfer it to the different location automatically once you change this setting).

You have subscribed to some newsgroups but you know that the world never stops and changes take place all the time. The same is true for Omea. Once you are subscribed to a newsserver, and some newsgroups appear in it, you don’t need to remember what groups existed on that newsserver. No more scanning the list of newsgroups trying to figure out what’s new. Omea will keep track of it.

Select a newsserver in the Newsgroups pane or right-click in some free space of this pane and select Manage Newsgroups or click Manage Newsgroups on the News toolbar.

In the Manage Newsgroups dialog which opens, select the desired newsserver and navigate to the New tab of the right part of this dialog. If some newsgroups appeared on this server, the number of the new newsgroups is near the “New” tab name.

Click this tab and subscribe to some newsgroups if you want.

If you want to use Omea’s database on a different machine, all you need to do is to copy the database files which contain all information about your resources, and next time you install Omea, you have to point it at this location.
Your first step will be finding the existing Omea’s database on your machine and copying it to some different location. The database path is set in Omea’s options (Tools>Options>Paths>Database Path). Navigate to the directory which is specified in Database Path, copy the database file and save it to a different location.
The second step is “forcing” Omea to use this database next time you install it. When you have completed Omea’s installation, you are asked to specify the repository where your database will be stored. Click Browse… to navigate to the directory where the database (copied from another machine) is stored and select the database folder. After that click OK to close the Database Path dialog box and come through the startup wizard as usual.
